Lana Del Rey to Self-Publish Poetry Book

Lana Del Rey, who is currently at work on her next album 'Norman Fucking Rockwell', announced on her Instagram that she will be self-publishing a collection of her poetry.

Tentatively titled 'Violet Bent Backwards Over the Grass', the songstress wrote that she was hoping to sell the book at mom-and-pop bookstores in the San Francisco and Southern California areas - for the price of $1.

In a 2018 conversation with Annie Mac, Del Rey stated in reference to her poetry:

“It’s been really cool for me ‘cause I was having a little bit of writers’ block with the music last Fall and so I just sat down to write some words without music and I realized there was just a couple of things I wanted to say through some poems, which is funny. I feel like I’m in the 19th Century.”

De Rey has been known to allude to poets in past and upcoming work, including Walt Whitman and Sylvia Plath, and Rolling Stone cited that Allen Ginsberg was an inspiration for the singer.
